Today, former Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice endorsed Karen Handel in her bid for re-election to Congress. Dr. Rice issued the following statement in support of Representative Handel’s candidacy:
“I am pleased to endorse Karen Handel for Congress. Georgians need a representative who is prepared to make the tough decisions necessary to address our most pressing challenges, including job creation and national security. Karen will fight hard for her constituents in order to help Georgians prosper.Throughout her life, Karen has consistently shown resilience in the face of adversity. Karen not only understands the struggles ordinary Georgians grapple with, but is one of the toughest political voices out there as a result.
“During her short-term in office, Karen has already achieved considerable success, distinguishing herself as a go-getter, and spearheading efforts to combat human trafficking and the opioid crisis. Her accomplishments prove Karen not only promises change, but delivers. It is an honor to support her candidacy for the Georgia 6th.”
Representative Handel said of the endorsement,
“Secretary Rice has served our country with distinction as both Secretary of State and as National Security Advisor. She has led organizations at the highest levels of government, academia and the business world. I am truly honored and humbled to have earned the confidence of Dr. Rice, a woman whom I admire greatly, and for whom I have the utmost respect, both professionally and personally.”
