Karen Handel Qualifies for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District

February 15, 2017

The time is now to deliver results for Georgia’s 6th District

John Porter
(Alpharetta, GA) — Karen Handel released the following statement this morning after qualifying as a candidate for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District.

“Secretary Tom Price has served the 6th District with great distinction, and I am confident he will continue to do so in his new role leading the Department of Health and Human Services. Steve and I have called the 6th District home for 22 years and we are blessed to have a deep network of friends throughout the district.

It’s time to deliver on the promises made of cutting spending, repealing Obamacare and reducing regulations. I am running for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District because I can and will deliver. I have a record of standing up and fighting the status quo to get things done and I will take that fight to Washington.”
I spent 17 years in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons and served as Chairman of the Fulton County Commission, and I know you have to be tough to get results. I know Karen Handel, and she’s the type of fighter we need in D.C. to take on the status quo. I’m proud to endorse Karen Handel for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District because I know she’s tough enough to actually get things done.

-Mike Kenn – Former Atlanta Falcon & Former Fulton County Commissioner

Karen Handel is my choice to succeed Sec. Tom Price as our representative for the 6th District  because she is an effective leader with a proven record of delivering real results in both the public and private sector.

-Terry Nall – Dunwoody City Councilman

I am pleased to endorse Karen Handel to be our next congressman representing the 6th Congressional District. As the former Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, I could always count on Karen Handel to be a fierce grassroots advocate for our conservative values. As our next Congressman, I know Karen will continue to fight for us in D.C. with that same passion.

-Sue Everhart – Former Chairwomen of the Georgia Republican Party

Biography of Karen Handel

Karen Handel is a lifelong conservative who has used her experience and skills from the private sector to achieve real results in public service.

After leaving a troubled home at age 17, Karen’s tenacity and perseverance earned her executive management positions with CIBA Vision and KPMG. She was asked to put her talents to use as CEO of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce where she led the Chamber back from bankruptcy to fiscal solvency while working with local business leaders to create tens of thousands of jobs in Metro Atlanta. Karen then served the citizens of Fulton County as Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, balancing a budget with a $100 million deficit without raising taxes, while uncovering the corruption of a crooked sheriff.

As Georgia’s first elected Republican Secretary of State, Karen successfully defended and implemented the state’s voter ID law, while cutting her own agency’s budget by 20% and improving services. Karen lives in Roswell with her husband Steve – whom she calls “a prince among men” — and their fur babies, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Abbie and Sadie.
