This is personal

Well, here we go again with a desperate opponent resorting to fabrications in the last days of the campaign. My opponent has spent most of her time on this campaign unable to tell you the truth . It is one thing for Lucy McBath to fudge her claims of residence so that her family can avoid paying taxes. It’s entirely different to lie about my views and my record … and I do not use that word lightly.

Lucy McBath and her out-of-state big money groups are flat lying about my record and my views on protecting those with pre-existing conditions.

From the first days of my campaign until today, I have supported protections for those with pre-existing conditions. This includes protecting their access to health insurance and health care, as well as protections to make sure they are not priced out of the market. I co-sponsored a stand-alone bill, H.R. 1121, to make these protections even stronger in the event that Obamacare is repealed or overturned in a legal challenge. The bill:

– Requires health insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions.

– Requires insurers to accept all employers and individuals applying for coverage.

– Prohibits health insurers from excluding benefits based upon preexisting conditions.

– Prohibits insurers from increasing premiums due to preexisting conditions.

I’m always going to protect those with pre-existing conditions when it comes to their health care. As I said, for me, it is personal. My sister was born with a life-threatening condition and has had pre-existing conditions her entire life. You can learn more about her and her medical journey here:

I’m never going to vote to hurt her, you, or any member of your family. There are no lies that my opponent can spread that will ever change this fact.

This one is personal. To me, and to you.
